To Surrender is to Accept the Force of Life

Author:
Surrender

Surrendering is not giving up on life, but giving up the struggle to find fulfillment outside of ourselves. To surrender is to accept the force of life and trust that whatever happens, we are always on the path of our own divine unfolding, for our highest good.

ACCEPTANCE

Accepting the force of life, is giving up the inner state of conflicts, with ourselves and the outside world. Conflicts that are manifested by our thought and feelings, creating unhappiness for all. Every feeling we try to avoid or deny, be it sadness, loneliness or feelings of hurt, have the tendency to reinforce themselves. We can release this by accepting ‘what is’, through connecting with the heart and becoming aware of the intensifying feeling within the body. When we surrender to the present moment, we become aware of the deeper emotion behind it and at the same time allow it to move through and eventually leave our energy system. This process may take some time and often goes together with the releasing of tears, which is a perfect way to letting go of all that is not serving us anymore.

By choosing to accept the present moment, we become the awareness behind our suffering. Understanding this, is the first step towards accepting our everlasting light.

PRESENT MOMENT

Acceptance is to surrender to the unfolding of the present moment. When we accept what is, something within starts to shift and a new light begins to dawn.

We can find the awareness of the present moment, in connection with our inner source. We can achieve this through meditation or in moments of silence, by taking a deep breath and becoming aware of surrounding sounds, nearby and from a further distance. Within this moment, we allow ourselves to become conscious of a stillness within, a soft and peaceful sound, the sound of our soul.

Within this field of infinite spaciousness, we find our spirit, allowing us to drop out of our mind and surrender to the stillness and vastness of our existence.

Acceptance

CHANGE AND CHALLENGES

Life is an ongoing movement of change and challenges. It is part of our existence and a way to grow and become the person we are meant to be. They are the opportunities to discover our own strength, providing us with the ability to master our personal circumstances.

Certain situations require taking a big leap of faith. Especially in situations where all answers and explanations fail and life doesn’t seem to make sense anymore. However, any moment of despair gives us the opportunity to surrender, let go of control and our limited ways of thinking.

When confronted with a serious disease, with no control over the outcome, we might become fearful or numb. Yet, we always have the option to surrender, to life itself, and to the source of our inner wisdom. The area of our higher spirit, empowering us to take the necessary actions to heal again or in some cases to accept the ending of this earth life. Within the field of acceptance and surrender, life and death touch a different source of meaning to our existence.

When losing someone near to us, especially when unexpectedly or at a young age, we might be overwhelmed with feelings of hopelessness or lose faith in life. But when we can accept the unacceptable, we unlock ourselves to the fullness of life. Life becomes ours once more, to create new opportunities to move on with courage and strength.

In these moments of acceptance, we create a fertile soil for the seeds of change.

QUALITY OF THOUGHT

The quality of our thoughts determines to a great extent the quality of our manifestations and the way we present ourselves to the world. Surrendered actions ignite from the heart, in contrast to un-surrendered actions, which are motivated by the mind. Heart-based actions maintain a sense of peacefulness, confidence and personal empowerment. Mind based actions, however, often result in feelings of stress, by a need for a certain result in the future or the need to be right.

The key to any spiritual process is found in the way we think and the shifts we make in our mind. We must be willing to surrender our ego to a higher spiritual force, the cross-road between acceptance and change. If we surrender to change, we find ourselves in a most graceful way to follow our truthful path with trust and confidence.

Let life be and allow it to unfold itself in its own magical way.

A well written blog. Surrender is seen as a negative term however in the work we do as individuals it is about realizing and making a choice. Decide if something needs to change or be done then take action. If not then accept the situation for what it is and move on. Leave it behind.

Thank you for your appreciation Leonard and your insightful comment!! Surrendering is indeed often interpreted as ‘giving up’, but is really the opposite, as it takes responsibility and strength to do so. Therefore, a sign of strength instead of weakness.

“Let life be and allow it to unfold itself in its own magical way.” … how perfect this words sum up this very insightful blog , my dearest Monique ! … I identified with so many of your descriptions of “right” and “wrong” actions …I realize that I still have of a lot of work to do in my spiritual development and I’m so grateful to have you as my coach ! Everything makes a lot of sense , but it also requires a lot of introspection and revision of self behavior , emotions and feelings and learning how to realign them so that one can achieve the inner peace and comfort , one seeks ! It also requires a deep level of honesty in recognizing where one stands in relation to the outside world , and that includes people as well as things !
It is a work in progress for me , but at least I am becoming more aware of myself and my true needs in respect to my surroundings …It seems that the less people that I have to please , the more in control I feel and the more I can “Let life be and allow it to unfold itself in its own magical way.” …
And so , for making me understand more about myself , I have to thank YOU , my dear , wise Friend !
    Blessings _/\_

Gabriela dear, thank you for your insightful comment!
We are all work in progress, so I’m not sure if we really do things ‘wrong’, we can only act from a place of knowing and awareness. When we know better, we do better. All of life challenges learn us something about ourselves and life in general. I truly believe it is the purpose of all that is happening to us… to learn, grow and mature. Perhaps the reason of our existence. I would not want you to think that you, or anyone in this matter, is doing, or have done, something wrong.
Your comment about the need for introspection and honesty towards ourself, sums it all up, as it the source of change and improvements in our lives.
To me, you have acquired an excellent way to live a truthful and comfortable life. Living your own life in your very own way!! Thank YOU for your interaction and improving my understanding of our human potential!!
Love and Blessings to you dear friend! _/|\_

Hello Monique I really was desiring to read your blog and finally today I got some time to sit and read it peacefully. Surrender …what a beautiful feeling I did it and I am glad I did to my situations that were earlier controlling me. But no sooner I surrendered to the present and accepted all the flaws and negativeness with an open heart I was able to see only the good in everything, which earlier were like thorns for me. I am glad I accepted my life as it is , listening to my inner voice in quite times and I surrendered to my God and my present. Now I give all my worries to my higher self only saying take care of it, you know the path. Thanks SiStar for this great blog and no wonder you have written it so well again. I Know that now it comes naturally from you, as your soul has become so wise and peaceful and your light is reflective and reaching us beautifully through your words and deeds <3 Love you <3
